Library Rules :-:

The College Library is named ‘ THE CAPITAL LAW COLLEGE LIBRARY’. The staff and students of the College may use and take books from this Library.

1.Library is opened during such hours as may be notified from time to time. The issue counter shall be closed half an hour before the closing of the Library; since then, no books will be issued. The Library remains closed on authorized holidays.

2.Every bonafide student will be enrolled as member of the Library on application to the Principal but no borrower card will be issued to a student unless on production of Identity Card along with a Pass-port-size recent photograph Library Card is not transferable.

3.A member shall not lend his/her borrower’s card to any one else and not transfer the books taken on loan from the Library. A borrower shall be responsible for all books issued on his/her card.

4.Each student is eligible to take one book at a time and can retain it for 15days from the date of issue on production of identity card along with the library card issued on his/her favour.

5.Each borrower must examine the condition of the books before they are issued and see that condition of the books sintered in the loan (Issue & Return) Register other-wise, in case of any mutilation, removal of sheets discovered later, the presumption is, the borrower has been the author of sheet removal and mutilation.

6.As the time of returning the books, the borrower should ensure that the Library Card is signed by the Librarian against each entray.

7.No person shall write upon, remove or lose any pages or pictures, damage or make any mark upon any books or any other material belonging to the Library in such a case the borrower shall be asked to replace such books or materials by new ones at his/ her cost.

7.When the date for the return of a book falls on a holiday, it should be returned on the next day, the library re-opens. If a book is not returned to the library when due, an over-due charge of 10 ( ten ) paise per volume per day shall be levied subject to maximum of the latest cost of the book borrowed.

8.A borrower against whom any over-due or other charge is outstanding shall not be allowed to borrow any other books from the Library, until the overdue or other charge outstanding paid is paid up.

9.Books once issued to a student will not be reissued again, until fourteen days gap elapses.

10.Periodicals, journals and books of reference such as A.I.R., C.L.T., Digests, Manuals, Dictionries, Directories, Encyclopaedias, Year Books, College Calendars, Courses of Studies and other rare books, can only be consulted inside the library and in no case’ it should be taken outside the Library Reading Room.

11.Library premises should not be used for any purpose other than reading or consulting the book, periodicals etc. of the Library. Spitting smoking, sleeping chitchatting etc. inside the Library are strictly prohibited.

12.All Library books borrowed by the student must be returned by the date of closure of the lectures at the end of the College Session. They should take Library Clearance Certificate before submitting their application forms for the Law Examinations and depositing the Examination fee for appearing at the Examination.

13.The Principal, may however, ask at any time to any borrower to return the books borrowed by him/ her if it is necessary for verification of stock of books and processing work in Library.

14.The teaching staff should return all the books taken on loan, once in a year to the Library i.e., before the commencement of Summer Vacation for Stock verification, repairing and processing of the books.

15.The Librarian is to see that the rule of silence is strictly observed in Reading Room as well as in the Library and to report any willful breach of the rule to the Principal.

16.If a student loses his/ her borrower’s card, another Duplicate Card will be issued to him/ her on application and on payment of Rs.2/- ( Rupees two only ) with a pass-port size recent photograph. The student should give a written undertaking stating that the Library Card is lost and he will be responsible in future if any person takes the privilege of misusing the original Card lost by him/ her No TRIPLICATE CARD will be issued.

17.No student will be allowed to take admission in the Intermediate and Final Classes unless he/ she clears up the Library Dues prior to admission.

18.If a book is lost by a member he/ she shall inform the Principal in writing about it. He / she shall deposit an amount to the present cost of book as determined by the Librarian. In case each student, the daily overdue charge shall continue to a accrue till the date of payment of the special deposit. The special deposit shall be refunded to the member after the lost has been replaced by the member.

19.A borrower who takes books from the Library is supposed to have read the library rules and is supposed to have agreed to abide by them. The printed Rules will be displayed in the Library premises ignorance of the Library rules is no excuse and all borrowers and reading students should be acquainted with the Library rules to avail the benefits of the Library. Violation of any rule, will amount to forfeiture of the privileges of admission to and of borrowing books from the Library.
