CONCESSION RULES :

1.On the
recommendations of the Mahatab Committee
the State Transport Undertakings have
granted the following concessions to the
students of this state : |

i.75% of 30 single
fares at current rates for monthly passes.
ii.50% of the current
fare for to and fro journeys from place of residence
to educational institution daily.
iii.50% of the current
fare for to and fro journeys from permanent
residence to educational institutions to avail
Summer/ Puja holidays, journeys on excursion and
specified extra curricular activities and for
interview.
2. At present,
monthly tickets are issued on the recommendations of
Heads of Educational Institutions. Daily concession
is availed of on the strength of Identity Card of
students issued by their Educational Institutions.
Concessional tickets are also issued for to and fro
journey on going to permanent residence during long
vacations on recommendation of the Heads of
Educational Institutions in a prescribed proforma.
Such facility is also available for journeys on
excursion. Specified extra curricular activities
attending interviews for employment on the
recommendation of the Heads of the Educational
Institutions.
3.On a review of the
working of the scheme, it is noticed that the
procedure for grant of the concessions is not
working satisfactorily. It is, therefore, decided
for the benefit of the students that monthly and
daily passes to them will be issued by OSRTC/ORT Co,
on recommendations of the Heads of Educational
Institution.
4.The concession will
be available in ordinary buses, express buses and
the students desirous of availing such conces will
apply with two copies of passport size photograph to
the Heads of the Educational Institutions who will
sponsor the same to the Local Transport Undertakings
for issue of passes. The authorities of Undertaking
will issue passes within 7 days from the date of
receipt of recommendation of the Head of the
Educational Institution. The process should be
expedited at all levels so as to be completed by
31st December, positively.
